Anyone familiar with the inside of a Polaris?
« on: December 05, 2017, 09:28:23 PM »

Hi
Sorry this is not in the Polaris section, but its a bit like the Marie Celeste in there

I have a Polaris in for service with hardly any go in it, it has virtually no pre-load on the spring and it doesn't look like I'm the first in there! What is confusing me is that it looks like the spring guide is missing and a mis-shaped washer has been forced in place, I don't think this is standard. Also the trigger sear has been re-cut and hardened and somebody neglected to put back the circlips. I cant seem to buy an original part from anywhere and was wondering if anybody can advise.
This looks a lot like the inside of a Stoeger XS20 and I have parts I took out but they don't fit.

If you look carefully at the pictures there is a step in the cylinder end plug where the homemade washer stops, but back from it is a wear line. I could really do with some dimensions of the spring guide, better still a replacement.
I'm wondering how an original end plug, spring guide and spring in place should look assembled. What space I need for the sear.

thanks in advance
Mark

For future reference, although a break barrel not under leaver, many of the parts from the Webley Valuemax are identical as they are both GAMO guns. Part number W367 from Chambers did the job.

I see the similarity now, Gamo Shadow shares a lot of common parts too.
