It states you just need to put the first half of your postcode.

It is ridiculous displaying peoples postcodes by default. For a forum is supposed to be so security conscious. Recently I hears cyclists homes were targeted. They had been using a website which also displayed their postcode.

I am sure criminals would be more than happy to know the postcode of gun owners. It doesn't take sherlock homes to narrow down a specific house especially if the user has posted any house or vehicle pics.

I agree, the first 30 posts are a PITA, and it's something we've all been through. On the plus side, it's well worth the wait if you're serious about BSA airguns .... honestly!

You can change the colour scheme. Moderation only lasts for thirty posts. You haven’t upset anyone, we are all allowed an opinion.

I find this forum extremely difficult to use its just not user friendly at all. Making a post is a nightmare with not two but three step verification. The captcha code is totally illegible in my browser. The readback facility is hit and miss and I end up having to open a media player to hear and play it back. Even then the accent is hard to understand and I still get some letters wrong.

I am a computer programmer and have also created many websites and administered my own IT forums in the past. I am all for security but I really think you are over doing it. I find it easier and much quicker to log onto my bank website and send them a message. As for every post being moderated is that really necessary it just slows down chat and stops people posting.

As for the colour scheme that's circa 1984 and again difficult to read.

Just my honest opinion I hope I haven't upset anyone but I think it is fair criticism and it is costing you users and potential revenue.

Hi I am Tony a bored 50yo now and need something to keep me occupied. It's been 30 years since I owned air rifles and I have visited a range recently and enjoyed myself with hire guns. I have decided to take the plunge and buy my first PCP Rifle I bought a second hand BSA .22 Ultra SE (Cayenne). It turned out to be practically brand new only charged once and fired less than 50 pellets

Anyway I am looking to shoot at ranges and would love to get permission from a local farmer to dispatch some vermin to vermin heaven. I have lots of previous shooting experience as I was in the infantry in my younger days. Therefore I have some basic gun maintenance knowledge but I am certainly no gunsmith. I love to tinker with things take them apart and upgrade them etc.

BTW is it me or are these verification letters the worst on the web. I just cant see anything doesn't bode well for my shooting

I sent a Superstar back to BSA a few years ago to be re-blued and I asked then to supply a stock, from stock so to speak. It came back about five months later beautifully blued and the stock was lovely, and in all that time they replied to one email, and none of my voicemail and other telephone messages. They clearly loved what they did but were overworked and things were clearly shambolic. Very oldy worldy.

They knew their customer service was terrible so they didn't charge for the re-blue in the end and gave me a huge discount on the stock, without me even thinking of asking for it.

I was at the same place, opted for the R10. Just felt like it was gonna be a good field gun when I shouldered it.

What did you opt for in the end?
