not long ago bought myself a r10.
like alot of people i love mine and havnt had any problems at all.

i got a lovely setup going with mine it has a nikko stirling gameking 4-16x50ao with a harris style bipod and sling, i use crossman hollowheads and they have proven awsome with my rifle and have not dissapointed me yet.

the rifle has a super shot to live quarry and even tho it being a 177 it has straight kill headshots at 45 yards easy even on those thick skulled tree rats.

i will post some pickkies soon and if people found this usefull in making a descision on buying an r10 im glad to help.

any stories with your r10's would be welcome and also reccomendations to kit ect.

thanks

just purchased r10 and nickko sterling gamehunter site lovely kit but at distance some brands of pellets shoot to right i have zero in long distance and when shooting at target it moves to left its a mistery
when zero in at 30 yds bull every time at 60 yds it should drop which it does but it shoots to the right i dont know why , its not windage

yehh it is really good at 30yards and the nikko stirling scopes are great Smiley

n ive never really had that problem because when i shoot long range i go from my perfect zero'd 30 yards and shoot 10 yards further each time using about 1-2 mags every time and it seems to put it spot on untill about 60-70 yards where the bullseye.

hope this helped Smiley

Your scope may be off axis horizontally. Check to see if it's dead centre above the barrel, BSA's seem to suffer with this more than most, odd rail width seems to be the cause. Judging this by eye is not easy, so level the gun with a spirit level across the top of the action, and drop a plumb line down from the rear of the scope scope, you may be surprised.

If we assume the scope is to the right of the barrel, when zeroed at 30 yards the pellet will shift to the left when the target is closer, and to the right when further away.

In this video a scope mounted on to an Ultra is used. In the last shot, the slow motion one, you can see the pellet coming in from the right side:

http://www.vimeo.com/6538203

And in this one, a HW 100, again in the last shot, you can just make out the pellet climbing directly up the centreline to the target:

http://www.vimeo.com/6435930

(The images are not brilliant as it was a hand held cam at the time)

The reason is this off axis thing. The HW100 has quality mounts on a regular sized rail, the mounts used on the BSA where cheap ones, which coupled with the oversized rail gave me this problem, in fact the BSA was as much as 2mm off. The cure is to use BSA mounts, or those which are split vertically like the Nikko Sterling ones.

long range with sub12ft is not viable its all about speed and twist. rifleing and feet per second. sub 12ft this is limetid twist slowes this makes the pellet spiral inthe air it is an ever incresing spiral. LONG RANGE SHOOTING WITH SUB 12FTLB IS NOT GOOD.

this  as you can see is not the technical way to say it but hope it helps

T ry the scope level as suggested,if that doesnt improve it rezero at 60 yds then try it at 30,also check your trigger control as pulling it off at 30 very slightly will mean it,s much further off at 60.I,d adjust your trigger pull as low as you can safely set it....

60yds is a long way for such a gun. your scope might be off axis as mentioned, you might have a smallest breath of wind, any fault in your tecnique will become more apparent at longer range.  I should not "personally" lighten the trigger pull most quality stuff leaves the factory just fine and also safe, work on you tecnique on the trigger instead of lightening if this is indeed the hitch. A good man on a heavy trigger will do the job better than a bad one on a light one  ;)

hey guys just a quick update with my pellet choice with my R10

i recently bought some RWS superfeilds and wow, they are great.

i reccomend them to anyone to try with their R10's, i shot my first one and followed with 3 other shots and i cudnt see where they were landing and i thought that i had a bad case of flyers. but as it turns out they were hitting in the same hole every time.

grat pellets for use with a great rifle Smiley try some for yourselfs im sure you will like them just as much as me :P

Try turning your mounts round on the rail.

this can and most times will correct it. hope this helps.
