Hi all, now that I've managed to activate my account I thought I'd better say hello! So.....Hello!  I've just bought myself a BSA Ultra S/S .177 with a 3x9x40 BSA scope and now need to get the rest of the gear.  I'm currently borrowing a friends bottle (only 200 Bar max fill) so am looking for a 300 Bar bottle for my rifle.  I've found a few in the second hand ads but they are all too far away from me.  Does anyone know of a parcel delivery service that will send bottles from private addresses ie not businesses?  Someone like Parcel Force/TNT/City Link?  i think the bottle with air in it is classed as Class 2 dangerous cargo so I'm not sure who will be able to move it.

Cheers for now!

Phil

I suspect that the answer to your question will be NO.
IMO you're going about this the wrong way, forget second hand because: how long until its next test? couriers don't want to carry them etc. etc.
7litre 300 bar bottles together with valve, guage, hose & delivery are about £170/£180. Trawl the net or the ads in an airgun magazine.

Hi Phil, You made it then, as said you must be careful regarding age of bottle, it needs to be 300 bar as well as you may be having it reg'd. test is every 5 yrs but as it's for surface use it's 10 yrs according to the shop that i go to, he also said to mark it up as surface use only. sent you PM re my supplier, price is post free. cheers, Mike welcomehere

welcome to the site. I just sold 2 x 300 bar 7litre cylinders on e-bay.
One was collected and other went parcelforce for £12 but had to be emptied first.
I had both cylinders tested before sale so my customers got a good deal at £115 delivered.
Whereabouts are you based? I may have a 12 litre 232bar one coming up.
Dick.

A 232 bar bottle is of little use to fill a gun to 200 or 232 bar as with every fill its remaining pressure drops. A 300 bar bottle will give far more fills.

Hi ya Phil and  ggfvcyh to the forum. Go for the 300-bar

mate, much more fills equals much more shots. 7ltr or 12ltr

     if possible.

Cheers all and thanks for the advice over bottles - I'm certainly looking for a 300Bar due to needing to fill to around 230Bar.  Once Tench is back up and running I'll be sending my gun to him to get it reg'd so that will help on the number of fills to a given bottle!

Steve, I haven't tried a pump (and would be happy with a pump) but would prefer a bottle.  PS I think my name looks more like a numberplate ;) than a postcode!
