While I don't own one, I have used them on several occasions. It can be a hard gun to master and is apparently quite hold sensitive. Airgun writer Ian Pellant wrote a good article on the gun and it's still viewable. Parts were sold to John Knibbs after BSA stopped making the gun. RB

I had a Magnum a while back which sat unused for ages which I never really got to grips with. My ability with springers was awful and I couldn’t shoot it accurately (I had grown used to recoiless Crossman Medalist pistols). The grip never seemed right for me. I made a modified the grip with milliput which improved theings a little. Finally I made a shoulder stock for it and used a red dot sight which made it even better. Then the lure of Crosman became to great so I sold it and bought a Ratcatcher.
i managed to get replacement breech seal from John Knibbs Try the Country Store, Shustoke near Coleshill

I have just bought a nice Mk2, and in my opinion, it shoots nice than the HW45, it's lighter to handle and just doesn't seem quite as harsh as the 45. I think they are a cracking pistol.

The MK2 has a better grip. The pistol itself is well made and accurate for its type, but you have to learn to use it.
It's not without it's problems.A couple of days after purchase (from new) my trigger came apart whilst it was cocked and I could not fire it.Had to send it to BSA cocked.
Only occasionally use it today as it is a collectors piece.Pitty it has a maxi grip scope rail good idea but most second hand guns tat have them are all mangled up.I suppose if you wait long enough for the glue to break down you can sort them out.

2 things: (1) Anyone have a rear sight for the BSA 240? I recently bought one and it does not have the rear sight. I installed a Williams adjustable sight on the scope rail and am very pleased with it but would also like to try the stock sight. Unfortunately, www.gunspares.co.uk is out of the sight block (i.e., one of the most important parts). They do have all the other parts though. (2) What brand/design of pellets work best. This is one solid pistol and it's the best constructed I've run across, but I have also yet to be able to get any good groupings. I've tried Daisy wadcutters, Dynamic nonlead, and a few others to no avail. Granted, some of it could be me or the pistol, but I also would think it's due to the choice of pellet as well. Thanks, Brent

ive got one of the original batch, serial#AN01173 mrs bought it for me for my birthday when they first came out (had to go on waiting list, in fact) and i cant have put more than two hundred pellets through it, i only fire it a few times now and then to keep it limbered up.
i slightly reshaped the grip as it had sharp corners but still didnt get on with it till like ric i made a shoulder stock and with a red dot it made a good ratter but i always preffered my webley tempest and targetized nemesis.
