Members do have other (inferior?) brands of rifles.
It would save having posts into the General BSA Chat section so keep the site tidy but someone would need to keep an eye on it to make sure the chaps(esses) are not straying into unwanted attention territory.
Would we have enough posts to keep the section active?
Has this already been discussed?

OFF Topic can hev any items in it not just guns, a section for other guns for sale or discussion would be good.

They do have a section for other guns mate. But why have a section for other rifles it would mean more work for the mods and they do this for free anyway so i think they have enough on there plate as it is

Hi
I mean no disrespect to the mods and do appreciate what they do, just thought another heading for just other guns would be good as the other bits one takes in everything from guns to fishing rods etc. This is not a complaint but just a thought.

I agree but this has already been debated at long length and it was decided to keep other (inferior) brands in the "Off Topic" section   /soz//

I think this is a good idea which should be considered on it on its merits: many of us - as much as we love our BSAs - have other rifles as well.  A section for non-BSA rifles which we own and care to write about could be of interest to many members.  As for the availability of mods, why invent problems before giving the idea a chance?  Isn't is possible that another mod willing to take on a new board may step forward?

Cheers,  Mick

Perhaps we could have a section entitled "I am a complete biff and I have purchased an (inferior airgun/overpriced airgun*)"

*Delete as appropriate

It is said that confession is good for the soul - The Holy Triumvirate have informed me, through the medium of various divers dreams and visions, that they do not hold with this view and that perversion of the individual from the Path of The Holy Triumvirate is a Mortal Sin.  As the Mortal Representative of The Holy Triumvirate I must insist that this proposed thread be entitled " I am an Heretic and my soul shall be damned to burn in helfire for all eternity - I have bought an airgun which is not a BSA"

Sounds fine by me, at least I would know where to post questions and answers about my guns.

I'm not on the BSA forum because I own a BSA gun (although I have in the past) No, I am a member because I enjoy the reasoned argument and witty banter   /oi/

Why not just make "Other Guns" a child board of "Off Topic" then and keep everyone happy? Separate, but in the same place!

Please not a child board of 'Off Topic'. If a child board is made, then it should be as a sub section of Rifles, Shotguns and Pistols. No sense in hiding it away unless that is the intention!

If you have another brand of gun ( AA, HW etc ) i would advise joining a forum that is dedicated to that brand. Look at all the info., help and advice there is on this forum, would you expect the same from another forum if you had a BSA problem?

Regards, Makis //wink//
