BSA Meteor, 1968 if my memory serves me correctly, showing my age now  /sslaughhhh/
I`m wrong, my first ever air gun was a Dianna model 2 air pistol which my dear old dad bought me (god bless him) back in the  sixties  /ooooppppps2/ As I remember it couldn`t hit a barn even if you were inside it /sslaughhhh/. If yer tried to shoot proper pellets they wouldn`t even leave the barrel  /sslaughhhh/, the only projectile it would fire was a milbro slug /ooooppppps2/ (can you still buy them today, I wonder!!)  /na nite/

Brand new mercury s .22 bought in the 1983 (ish) from the gunship in Bridgwater, with money earned picking potatoes, yes I was still at school. I fitted an original 4x40 wa scope, then shot it to pieces over the next 10 years before passing it onto my kids and now my grandchildren  /arghhhhhh2/

My dads Cadet from age 8-13 when I bought a Relum Tornado from my mums club book. Couldn't afford anything else at the time. September 1969 an Airsporter from the local toy shop. I lived on a farm and use to work there in busy times to fund my toys. Plenty of money after harvest work is how I remember the date.

My first gun was a BSA Cadet in .177 what a little smasher this was, Then bought a Super Meteor in .22 and this was a little star of a gun. Then up to the Airsporter S which was just about the prettiest airgun ever made until the Prosport came along.I dabbled with the BSA PCP's but to be honest I never got on with any of them.I recon that was because of all the trouble the magazines gave me.
But just recently I had an idea of re barreling an AA S200 and making a longer Air cylinder for it.I chose the BSA barrel over the Walther barrel blank because I know that the beeza can be a single hole performer when it is treated right from the beginning. And also they are the least pellet fussy in the 177 calibre that I chose.
So I now have the best of all worlds really,a very accurate, very rugged simple airgun that gives plenty shots per fill, not too heavy and is good for both the field and for target shooting.
I have just this very morning finished the testing with Biz Mags (single ragged hole groups) at the normal 30 yard plinking range.Next time I go I shall get there early enough to set out some long range card targets to see just how far this gun will group small clusters out to. I was able to pick off some of the clay pigeon fragments at 70 yards (lazered with my range finder ) But once again I have BSA to thank for my enjoyment of shooting. /coooollll/

An Airsporter Mk11, very secondhand, bought for £3 when I was 13. I instantly became the shooting star of the neighbourhood. Amongst all the Dianas, Milbros and haenels etc., mine was a howitzer.

I still have it by the way and it shoots just as well as it always did.

I put 1000's of rounds through it and was a crack shot - right up until the time when I got my next gun, aged around 22, at which time as I got more and more guns my shooting got worse and worse.

As a relative newcomer to BSA guns, my first were only purchased last year - a pair of old Airsporter Mk2s in .22 and .177 circa 1960.  I later bought a Webley MkIII which is now at the local RFD in for exchange as I hate it. Now I've rebuilt the .22 I can understand why they get such good press.

A .22 Airsporter. Bought it new in 1979, still got it. HAd a new mainspring fitted about 1,000 pellets ago, and that's it. The woodwork is almost unmarked, and apart from one or two shiny silver bits (around the muzzle) the blueing is excellent. Cocks sweetly, shoots well (with the classic Airsporter "plungggg" noise), and in my opinion is one of the best looking guns ever made- concealed cocking lever, classic lines and smooth graceful curves. If only the wife had aged as beautifully.

My first air rifle was a BSA Buccaneer .177 at the age of 14.  This I actually found dumped in my local quarry, all I had to do was ram an old wire coat hanger down the barrel and clear ten pellets from it and then put an oil rag through it. Luckyly my grandad had a tin of slugs so was able to get some shots off. I still have it 25 years on although I havent been out with it for going on 15 years.

the firs air rifle i shot BSA Buccaneer .177 at the age of 9 at a local fund raiser for our youth club.
it had a bsa rs1 reflex sight on it.
years later i fitted a rs1 sight to my hw45 and won the pistol shoots with it for 2 years till someone knocked out the prism.
i was give the remains of a rs1 recently but the mounts are missing

My first bsa rifle is the scorpion T10 tactical in .22 that i still have the privilege of owning its super accurate and a nice barrel length, the only downside is the tactical stock seems slightly cheap..  /shucks 2/

Hi everyone!

This is my first post and where better to start than my first BSA rifle! Here I am in the late 1980's with my trusty Meteor. I think it was a MK3 but not 100% on that. Since then I've had an Ultra, a rifle I loved and regretted selling, and now I currently have an XL Tactical, which isn't so great but just a stop-gap before I get another Ultra (or Scorpion) in September.

This Meteor really shaped my passion for shooting, I'm even thinking about trying to refurbish one just for nostalgia.

Hi! My first rifle was a Diana I think it was a model 15 where you loaded it by unscrewing the tip or the barrel and pulling out a tube attached to the end cap putting a pellet into the tube and screwing it back into the barrel. You then had to cock it in the usual springer way! It had the power to punch a hole through a wet tissue!!
Then I got a real gun a BSA Cadet !  This was in the mid 50's. Not the good old days gun wise!
My new Scorpion SE .22 Multi is a real beauty and it dislikes squirrels!

Mind how you go!
