4 or 5 years ago with and Airsporter S in .22 , I clearly recall the first thrilling few shots I took with it!.

Like with a lot of people, for me, things really went from there shooting wise.

My first BSA was a .303 Lee-Enfield, WWII vintage, with a spike bayonet. This was back in about 2006. My favorite WWII combat rifle is the Lee-Enfield. Smoothest of the bunch.
Got a BSA SuperTEN in the winter of 2011. Allegedly a new one. An impressive airgun, it looks like a target rifle and hits a good deal harder than anything previous in airguns.
This hobby can easily turn into an obsession.
Cheers,
AuxArc2020
PS. Thought that black and orange were Harley-Davidson colors, not BSA ones. /smile/

That's a beauty of a rifle to have as your first BSA!

My first bsa was an airsporter mk4. The barrel had been chopped to around 7 inches from the loading port. I managed to get another cylinder/barrel for it. I stupidly sold it.

MK3 S10 BBK for me and I still have it

My first airgun would have been a Diana .177 made for juniors but I couldn't tell you the version as I was probably only about 11 when it was bought for me - wish I still had that too so I could pass it down to my young 'uns

There lies a tale !

In my youth (early 1970's), I was relieving the local estate of their roosting pheasents using my old Relum air rifle and I was caught by the Gamekeeper.

This old boy gave me a choice.

Either he would 'give me a good hiding' - then he would get the local bobby 'to give me a good hiding' - and then they would take me home and 'if your Father didn't give you a good hiding, then I would give you another one !!'

Or  'Be here at 6 o'clock in the morning and I will show you why I would rather you didn't poach my birds !'

When faced with that sort of choice, I spent most of my spare time for the next six months learning stuff which has held me in good stead ever since !  (He only intended it to be for one week, but I just kept on going back !)

Anyway, at the end of my time with him, he took my old Relum off me and gave me a BSA Airsporter, a Mk2 I think - long since gone ;0(.

Thems was the days !!!

Airsporter .22 MK6 ..  i was 16 at the time had it brand new in 1977 ,,  i still own it today.. i can see it now stood in the circular rack on the shop counter..  "drool"  i'm pretty sure it was £52, so i should just get my money back if i sell now..  ;)     i got it home and was the most disappointed teenager there was..  it had about half the power of my previous rifle, a webley MK3,  and my mates mk1 airsporter made it look silly..  ahhh well..  ya live and learn..  :)

I'm mostly a muzzleloader and black powder cartridge guy, and have been since the mid 1970's.  In the early 1980's, my Dad got a BSA Meteor  .177 springer.  We enjoyed shooting it, and I was amazed at how accurate and powerful it was.  The convenience of the "shoot anywhere" aspect of airguns, coupled with their mechanics and accuracy intrigued me.  That started me on my involvement with real airguns.  Beeman's was in it's heyday  in the late 1970-s and '80's and my Dad and I bought many of their best offerings, but I never forgot that Meteor.  I let the airguns rest for the last 15 years or so as I got involved deeply in other forms of shooting.  (See "New from USA!" post in "Introductions")

I came back to airguns in the last few years as I've had to teach myself to shoot lefty due to problems with vision in my right eye. (Airguns=maximum shooting, minimum ammo prep and gun cleaning!)   I was amazed to find the PCP's had been so well developed for sporting use, and have been craving a BSA R10 Mk2 FAC Lefty since I first read about them.  Unfortunately the US importer so far has chosen NOT to bring this fine rifle to the USA.

I've been shooting several other finely made PCP's from various British and European manufacturers, but have also pestered BSA and Gamo to sent the R10 to the USA.  Finally, I gave up and ordered one direct from Cheshire Gun Room to be sent here.  I've been waiting  /ahhh1/ (mostly)  patiently for more than 5 weeks for my new...

 R10 Mk2 .22 cal FAC LH

... to arrive in the States.  Still no word that it's been received from BSA to the UK dealer yet(??), but here's hoping!!
