!!!SALES & CLASSIFIEDS ACCESS !!!
« on: October 20, 2012, 08:38:44 PM »

Can all members please note that access to the Classifieds Section on the BSAOG is only available after a minimum of 30 approved posts have been obtained.
All sales, swaps & wanted items must be kept to their relevant sections within the Classifieds & that any appearing elsewhere on the forum will be moved or removed at the Mods or Admins discretion.
Wanted ads and offers to buy, sell or swap on non-classifieds threads will likewise be moved or removed.

you must have the first part of your postcode filled into your profile.

30 posts in the INTRODUCTIONS section will not be allowed  //wink//

please read through the rules below, so that once you do gain access to the classifieds section you are aware of what we expect from you !!!

PLEASE NOTE, THE BSAOG IS NOT IN ANYWAY HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SALES POSTED ON THIS SITE WE ACT SOLELY AS A MEANS OF ADVERTISING

RULES REGARDING THE WANTED AND CLASSIFIEDS

1, Price has to be included

2, Location (In Profile)  i.e. nearest postal town including 1st part if postcode (mine will read LEEDS LS9)

3, No personal information to be made public use the pm function to pass on addresses and phone numbers

any member failing to meet the new requirements will have there post deleted and will be pm`d with a link regarding the rules

any member re-posting without all rules met, will have there rights suspended from posting in classifieds section for 1 week.

NO EXCUSES

--------  THIRD PARTY SALES  --------

Would members please take note that if you are selling or swapping anything for a friend or mate you are acting as an "AGENT" for them and will be expected to accept full responsibility in the event of anything going wrong with the sale.
Therefore it will be your details we pass on to the relevant people/authorities should the need arise

------  AIRSOFT, BLANK FIRERS, REALISTIC IMITATION FIREARMS & DE-ACTIVATED WEAPONS  ------

The sites Admin team have decided that all AIRSOFT, BLANK FIRERS & REALISTIC IMITATION FIREARMS are NO LONGER eligable for sale on the BSAOG.

It is with regret that we have had to implement this ruling to the Classifieds Section but due to the complicated nature of the VCR act & the numerous 'interpretations' that may be taken on it, we have decided that, for the best interests of our forum & it's members, that these items may not be offered for sale.

Any such items appearing for sale on this forum will be removed immediately.

De-activated firearms will still be allowed to be listed provided they have all their appropriate de-activation certificates & are only eligible for sale to over 18's

--------   SILENCERS   --------

YOU ALL KNOW THE UK LAWS ABOUT SALES OF SILENCERS IF YOU DONT THEN MAY I SUGGEST YOU LOOK IT UP

IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THAT A FEW MEMBERS ARE MAKING AND SELLING SILENCERS BETWEEN PM`S

THAT IS ENTIRELY UPTO YOURSELVES BUT IF YOU ARE CAUGHT YOU KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES

IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON THE BSAOG FORUM

ANYONE CAUGHT BREACHING THE VCR LAWS WILL BE BANNED IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT WARNING

Anyone advertising a for sale, wanted or swap will be assumed to have read, understood and agree to the following guidelines.
Anyone found trying to de-fraud members will be immediately BANNED.
Their details will be passed onto the police & other forums.

1, Your location must be completed in your profile, posts will be deleted on the arrival of a member of the admin team NO EXCUSES.

2, If at all possible try & conduct a face to face deal. Take a friend (witness) along with you if you can, but ask the person you're dealing with if this is OK in advance.

3, Conduct all deals on the open forum, use the pm method for payment methods, phone numbers & addresses

4, Remember if using PAYPAL it is against their policy to use there service for buying/selling air rifles.  CHECK THE FINE PRINT WITH PAYPAL IN THE NOTES BELOW.

5, If you think a deal is too good to be true in my experience it normally is. This said double check to make sure.

6, If you have any doubts what so ever please inform a member of the admin team ASAP there are certain measures we can take to help a deal run smoothly.

7, The minimum legal age for buying or selling an airgun (or even receiving one as a gift) in the UK is now 18. Because not only the person aged under 18 buying or selling an airgun, but also the other party in any subsequent transaction, would be acting illegally, we regretfully cannot allow any member under 18 to place sales or wanted advertisements for airguns.

8, The BSAOG accept no responsibility or liability what so ever for deals going wrong. If deals do go bad we can only try to help by forwarding details of the deal to the police if they require them.
Keep copies of texts, e-mails, personal messages, dates and times of phone calls (and the numbers involved) could all be useful to the police if any investigation is deemed necessary.

9, If you are going to meet somebody for a "face to face" deal, remember you would be breaking the law by removing an air weapon from it's case in a public place. Don't do deals in car parks etc.

10, Royal Mail are legally required by POSTCOMM (their regulatory body) to carry legal sub 12ftlb airrifles and sub 6ftlb air pistols, so long as they are properly packaged and within the sizes allowed for posting. This only applies to PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS buying/selling to another private individual.

We have an ever growing number of members joining the BSAOG, if the guide lines are followed we reduce the risk of any member been ripped off.
Finally, there is a feedback service available please use this service to allow fellow members the chance to see how deals are been completed.

On an additional note, we ask that the seller of an item leaves the price on the original thread purely for reference

--------   PAYPALS POLICY ON FIREARMS   --------

NOTES: PAYPALS POLICY ON FIREARMS
What types of firearms related items does PayPal prohibit?
Question : Answer :
PayPal prohibits all account holders from buying or selling any type of firearm and certain firearm parts and ammunition. PayPal may allow certain US merchants to sell items addressed by this policy if they have been approved by PayPal and can ensure transactions and consignments comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Firearms – Include all rifles, shotguns and handguns, whether they are intended for use in sporting, as collectibles, or as curio and relic firearms. These items are prohibited regardless of their present working order.

Firearm parts - Include, but are not limited to, receivers and frames, silencers, kits designed to convert a firearm to automatic firing capability, high capacity magazines, multi-burst trigger activators, and camouflaging firearm containers.

Ammunition - Includes ammunition with propellant, such as gunpowder or blank ammunition. Ammunition is defined as ammunition or cartridge cases, primers, bullets or propellant powder designed for any firearm.

Stun guns - For US residents, PayPal allows transactions for stun guns only if the transaction is permitted by law in both the buyer's and seller's jurisdictions. US sellers must ensure that each transaction is legal in both locations before completing the sale. Transactions for stun guns involving account holders outside the US are prohibited.

Other Related Items – PayPal allows transactions for paintball guns, blank guns and air-soft guns as permitted by law in the applicable jurisdiction. These items must display all markings required by law, must not be convertible to shoot a lethal projectile, and must not include blank ammunition.

What types of weapons and knives does PayPal prohibit?

Brass or other metal knuckles
Leaded canes, staffs, crutches or sticks

A switchblade is any knife resembling a pocketknife with a blade that can be released automatically or by use of a trigger. Other names for switchblades include spring-blade knives, snap-blade knives, gravity knives and butterfly knives.

A disguised knife is a knife designed to look like a harmless item. Examples of disguised knives include belt buckle knives, cane swords, shobi-zue, lipstick case knives, air gauge knives and writing pen knives.
