Forum Members Location Map
« on: January 04, 2015, 06:48:14 PM »

Whatever happened to the  Forum Members Location Map? Does it even exist? or was it sent to the big recycle bin in cyberspace.

Thanks Ranger22, is there a link somewhere on the bsaog home page or do you have to go through google maps to access it? How and when is it updated? as I remember putting in a request many moons ago along with many others members for our  locations to be added but nothing happened, I just assumed it had fallen by the wayside, as that's not the case if it's not to much trouble could one of the mods please add my location to the map (Edinburgh EH15)  much appreciated.

It was mr ed that started the map and stig took up the reins, I found it using the search function button. Other than that I don't know much about it

Thanks for that, just had another look at the map and it's the same names that's been on for a long time no new names or locations from new members so it looks like it's a bit dead in the water so to speak, but thanks anyway.

Looks kinda like no one is prepared to pick-up the baton and run with it.  :03:

I had a look at it and I have know idea how to add to it either. Which maybe why no one new has added themselves. That and I only yesterday for the first time. If it can be edited then I'll add myself to it.

Digger.

As far as I was aware it was one of the mods that added the names to the members location map (the stig) according to Ranger22. I would imagine that the effort and time involved adding the names of every member that wanted their names on the locations list would be very time consuming, Now I know the mods are very busy in their respective rolls and when the forum gets to busy something has to give, which is a real shame as it's part of this forum that is quite unique, I don't know of any other forums out there that has a members locations map although there may be some. Zippy and I are thinking on the same wavelength hear in that the members should be able to add and remove there locations themselves this surely would take the burden away from the mods, all we would need is a step by step guide in the form of a sticky so that computer dinosaurs like myself can easily follow it.
