Need your opinion on custom bolt
« on: August 06, 2015, 09:35:45 PM »

I ve just made a prototype of an over sized bolt for my Scorpion, but it can fit other models as well. Its still in aluminium color, but I will black anodize it, and make ones from stainless steel and brass.
Also, it is not bent, yet. Next to it is the original one.
So, what do you think?

It looks good .is it heavier than the original ?
It would be a good idea if it was as it could solve bolt jump in some higher power scorpions .
not sure it needs to be bent .?quite like it as is

Looks well made, yeah think a heavier one would do well on the FAC guns

Id say if it was  significantly heavier you could market as a solution to bolt jump and im sure you would sell a fair few .

thank you for your comments.
this one is made from aircraft grade aluminium, and even it is a "bit" larger than the stock one, their weight is about the same.
the stainless steel and brass ones would be considerable heavier.

Indeed, even in sub 12 fpe guns the bolt tends to jerk up when fired. Personally I'd like to see even bigger knob on that bolt.

I am glad to hear it.
In a few days, I will have them in more options - black anodized, aluminium polished, brass polished, and stainless steel.
I will attach this one to my Scorpion tomorrow to take a picture, so you (and I) can have a better idea how does it look once it is mounted on the rifle.

Old Post But Seeing You have a Disco, how Big would Bolt Handle Ball have to be to hold down a .22 FAC 24flb Disco and Screw right on. Even in Crosman Addvert on TV  the Young Kid's Disco Bolt Jump's way up whilst He's Shooting. Some Guy's on the InterWeb use a Rubber Band on the Bolt to hold'er down. a06

The bolt I got pretty much stays down when I fire my scorpion, it's 34ft/lb. it's one of the Ali ones. Quite fancy the brass one and I'm sure it will not move. These bolts are very well made

Pinkney makes big ball brass bolts. I have one on my Scorpion and it stopped the bolt from popping open at 55 fpe. It still sways up a bit though.

Good no doubt. Pinkney has 25mm ball and it could be even bigger. I've used 37mm bakelite balls and they are IMO just the right size.
