Hi all,

I have been lucky enough to be spending a week in Maidencombe (Devon) with the wife and kids (half term).

Today I decided to drag them around to the Sportsman Gun Centre (Exeter) and also on the way back (to our holiday accommodation) to Ronnie Sunshines (Devon branch).

I had a really nice experience in both shops, we were very welcomed and the staff (at both shops) were very accommodating.

Sportsman had a great selection of both air pistols and air rifles and the salesman (Stuart) unfortunately said he'd even get a Ultra SE to the spec that I wanted from their Newport Store for tomorrow.....if I wanted him to, without even a deposit, which I found very trusting.

Ronnie sunshines on the other hand, did not have such a large selection of rifles/pistols in stock (as their store is much smaller) I expressed my interest in a BSA Ultra SE and they did show me a BSA Ultra Black Widow Combo...but in .22, they also did offer to order one in for me....but would take around a week. However I was invited to have a look at their indoor range which looks a load of fun, it was just unfortunate that we have plans for the last couple of days we have here, otherwise both me and my boy would have been down there for an hours shooting.

I had a fantastic experience in both shops and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting the South West of England.

Thanks for reading.

Hi, I did exactly the same yesterday Sportsmans first and then Ronnies , I found it the other way round, Sportsmans had lots of Airifles but not much variety both shops where very good and staff helpful, in the end even though I was just looking I came away from Ronnies with a R10 Mk 2 in walnut combo, bit disappointed they didn't throw in a tin of pellets after spending over £800 but hey things must be tight these days
