BSA Shotgun Query
« on: April 24, 2018, 04:02:22 PM »

Can anyone on this forum please tell me every possible piece of information regarding this shotgun. It has 30 inch jessops fluid pressed steel barrells and a lot of proof marks. BSA requested the manual for this shotgun from my father back in the 1960's and asked if they could keep it as a fire at the BSA factory damaged some of their information and manuals on some of their shotguns made in the 1920's.
Could someone please tell me the year of manufacture, rarity and value please as well as all the hallmark meanings. However it's not letting me upload any photos for some reason!!!! Please help.
Thanks very much.
John Coleman

Now photobucket like to charge to allow people on forums to see the pictures people put on their sites, but there is a couple of ways around it.
1, Don't use photobucket or Flickr, other sites are still free.
2, If you want to use photobucket then use this

I recommend using the above "fix" anyway, it allows you to see pics which were hosted with photbucket before photobucket decided to charge.

I know next to nothing about shotguns so I'm no use to you I'm afraid. I have a feeling that you may be best asking for help from John Knibbs.
http://www.airgunspares.com/store/department/83/SHOTGUN-SPARES/
He may well have copies of records from the BSA factory from the era your gun relates to, the BSA factory themselves should be able to provide you with a copy of any info your father donated to them if they haven't already passed it to J Knibbs for his archives and research on BSA history, particularly the early 20th century guns.

I have tried to send emails with photos to John knibbs @ www.airgunspares.com but my email comes back undelivered every time. Thanks anyway. I'm regretting making the effort to try and get more information it seems there are too many obstacles to get through for information.

Try phoning John Knibbs, that's all I can suggest, as far as how or why the email didn't work I don't know, perhaps they don't allow attachments? I have no idea how their email system works. The BSAOG is independant of both BSA and John Knibbs International so we have no say or influence with or from either of them.
There may well be somebody on here who does know what you want to know but unless they own up I'm afraid I have no clue who that may be. Then again we may have no members with any knowledge of the gun you own.
I don't know but surely there must be a forum for classic or vintage English shotguns that may well have some members with the knowledge to help?
